Now, the renewed model Vanquish ’16 is revealed after the 4 years of age, as well as new Stella and new Twin Power.
But wait.. Hm. As lots of people already mentioned, the colouring is very close to the last model “Stradic ‘15” as shown on the tweet below, against the previous model was dark grey / black colours? (I actually like this this colours personally, though.)
Anyway, let’s see the spec and features added to this new Vanquish.
MM Gear – Micro Module Gear System
You may know or may not – the shock of the previous model change “Twin Power 15” did not have this MM Gear, but do not worry. New Vanquish has!
Micro Module Gear system is a feature to make reeling smooth and silent by smaller gear cogs.
Regarding to the SHIMANO those small cogs gears make reeling smooth and silent, and those gears are even stronger than the old normal gears.
You will have much clearer feeling from underwater about lure swimming, stream, fish action etc with this reels.
Core-protect
This is also one of the big feature from Stella ’14 – water resistance system.
And this is also added to new Vanquish ’16.
Supposedly it will add to the 3 key areas – the roller clutch, the body and the line roller.
Light but Strong!
Now let’s see the weight for all those models.
If you compare with the previous Vanquish, you can see the new ones are 5g-10g lighter than the ‘12 models. This means, the new Vanquish ’16 is the lightest spinning reel model of SHIMANO.
Does it mean the Vanquish ’16 is weak-body model? The answer is NO, regarding to SHIMANO staff.
This reel also has metal body to keep it strong enough.
It also has titanium one piece bail, G-Free Body to make it lighter more, but still strong.
Spec and Release Date
The size of models are 1000 – 4000, which can cover from small trouts / squids to middle size like bass, seabass, trevally etc.
The price is in between 54,500 yen – 58,800 yen (RRP), so sold price might be around 45,000 – 48,000 yen.
Release date is not exactly announced yet but around the end of March – beginning of April 2016.

I am afraid Stella / Twinpower and Vanquish would not be upgraded in this year 2017 as they are all upgraded within couple of years.
Instead TwinPower XD has been announced and will be out this March, and that TwinPower XD 4000XG can be around 40,000 yen.

Hi Sergio we have not had any further info of XD yet but we are also expecting the XD would have more range of models in future for larger targets.
