All new salt water spinning reel from SHIMANO is out in 2020 – Stradic SW.
Low – mid cost effective SW reel is now have Infinity Drive – reduces 30% of friction around main shaft and pinion gear by holding pinion gear by 2 bearings, so it creates smoother spin feeling and gain reeling power, that is only featured to STELLA SW for now.
X-Protect is featured to line roller and stopper bearings which prevents water invading inside the structure.
HAGANE Body is strong but light Aluminium metal body on reel foot side with reinforced plastic body cover.
Interestingly, #4000 size and #5000 size or bigger are in different concept, so #4000 does not have Infinity Drive and stopper bearing X-Protect.
Instead, Silent Drive and G-Free Body are only featured to #4000 body. Which means, #4000 body is more like enhanced strength body of normal spinning reels such as Twin Power for heavy duty, and #5000 or bigger are more for SHIMANO’s SW spinning reel.
