New High Spec, Tough Braided Line from DAIWA

PE lines – Japanese name of braided lines are very strong against pulling straight, but very sensitive against scratch, as you may already know. It is now very common to be used, especially for lure fishing and boat fishing as it is very light and can make long cast distance, and strong sensitivity as it doesn’t stretch, however because of its weakness, you have to knot with mono line leader at the end. But leader cannot be too long, therefore often braided line can be cut by fish scratched on the rock or structure under the water.

Now DAIWA has established new technology for braided line – new material TOUGH PE, and it is coated by Si² – NEW Evo Silicone 2 makes 300% stronger than previous braided lines against scratch… DAIWA announces.

This demonstration uses UVF SALTIGA Dura Sensor 8 +Si², which uses the same technology. From 1:15 previous braided line #0.6 is set to the machine, tied by 400g sinker and watch how man times it can cut by scratching. That is cut by 23 times of scratching.

From 2:33 new line SALTIGA Dura Sensor #0.6 is set and starts scratching.
And see how many times it actually goes… Over 300 times!
This demonstration shows you how strong this braided line could be… That is one of our dream that tough and strong braided line against scratch.

Of course we still need mono leader at the end of your rigs, but just in case if the braided line can scratch by running fish… This could let us catch much more fish we have previously lost!

This Koga line is for light boat game such as light jigging, TaiRaba etc in between #0.6 – #1.5 with 5 colors changing 10m each, so you can easily see how deep your rig is at.
