SHIMANO ULTEGRA is one of very famous spinning reel in the world for high cost effective, and thise ULTEGRA has now come back with plenty of new features!
Price range is just from 16,300 – 20,500 yen but body material is now changed from plastic to CI4+ the light and strong SHIMANO’s original carbon material, which was used to use for middle -high end models ( rotor material is the old type plastic as well as 17 ULTEGRA).
Gears are now changed to Micromodule Gear II, and with Silent Drive the reeling is extra smooth unlike low to middle class reels.
X-Protect water resistance feature has also been installed to line roller and body, so durability is also enhanced.
One another news is now One-Piece Bail has been re-installed to new 21 ULTEGRA, which was previously removed from 17 ULTEGRA, so the line trouble could be much less at line roller. The material is steinless.
Handle is made by aluminium and screw-in.
Sizes are varied from #1000 – C5000 with normal / speed /extra speed gears so you can choose one for lots of different type of fishing.
Of coure this wouldn’t be as well as Stradic or even Twin Power as quality of each parts are not the same, but at least, new 21 ULTEGRA is much better than previous model.
