Affordable But Tough Braided Line DAIWA PE Durasensor x8EX +Si3 Released!

Previously DAIWA released Durasensor+Si2 lines for variety of methods that are quite affordable, yet durable and tough coated braided lines and loved from anglers.

Now DAIWA enhanced it’s coating +Si2 further – to +Si3 for new line DAIWA PE Durasensor X8 EX+Si3 in this 2023!

Let’s check it out more.

Enhanced Silicon Coating – EvoSilicone3 (+Si3)

DAIWA’s own coating technology – EvoSilicone (+Si) has been even enhanced more than previous +Si2 – EvoSilicone3 / +Si3 is featured.

As DAIWA official says, anti-fliction and durability has been enhanced x1.3 from +Si2.
Previously +Si2 showed great durability on Fishing Festival 2023 by their demonstration, and we are expecting they would display something to this +Si3 in new Fishing Festival 2024.

Other Featured DAIWA’s Braid Line Technology

Of course, DAIWA’s other braid line technology are featured as below:

Tough PE – each threads are even thicker, perfectly round than the conventional that enhanced further of its durability and anti-fliction.

UVF: Ultra Volume Fiber – DAIWA’s proprietary processing method, braiding the fibers while condensing them, highlighting high abrasion resistance and strength.

Muscle Braiding – by tightly braiding, it becomes even more durable to shock, ensuring trouble-free performance.

Product Impression and Review

I have actually purchased personally and am using this line on DAIWA 23 LEXA and 23 SALTIST (baitcasting) for a moment, and will give you some impressions and reviews.

First Impression

As soon as I opened and released the line, I found this line is pretty hard, even harder than previous Durasensor+Si2, felt like +Si3 is much stronger and thicker than +Si2.

This is however fits into spools quite well, not too thick nor less.
Just at the beginning, the line got a bit of curls especially on SALTIST, the baitcaster reel, probably because the spool size is much smaller than LEXA.

While using, this hardness is actually getting less and less while using, and sits better after an hour use.
This is affordable coated braided line, therefore the coating can be peeled time by time of course and the durability should be less and less with that, but at least I did not really see less durability for those use while 3-4 times of full-day use for now.

While fishing I hooked couple of dolphin fish – mahi mahi, and as you know it jumps a lot and then can scratch the line on their body, but at least it did not break nor frayed.
And for SALTIST casting, it had no issue with the baitcasting reel too.

For now, this line is great durable line as long as the coating lasts, comparing to its cost.
I am assuming when the coating is getting less and less then it can get weaker especially against fliction, but will see how it goes.

One thing, this line is even harder than any braid line I had previously, so I am not quite sure how this line fits into SHIMANO’s Infinity Loop, such as 22 STELLA and 23 Vanquish, as I see softer line can be fit better to those dense-spooling system because the harder line can spool out a lot in a short moment that can create backlash.
