Top of Baitcasting Reel from DAIWA has been back Renewed! 24 STEEZ SV TW

By getting close to end of the year.. We are exciting to see new product announcement towards the biggest fishing show in Japan.

And now DAIWA also revealed new flag-ship baitcasting reel – 24 STEEZ SV TW has been back renewed!

Let’s dig deeper to this new brother of STEEZ family together.

Versatile of Flag Ship STEEZ Family – STEEZ SV TW

STEEZ SV TW is the “center” of the versatile flag ship baitcaster reel from DAIWA, as you may have already known.
Light yet strong, can have capacity to cast lighter to heavier lures.

Now this 24 STEEZ SV TW – is renewed based on DAIWA’s new baitcasting reel design, HYPERDRIVE Design.

HYPERDRIVE Design has been out for these days and receiving lots of positive feedback, however the biggest updates for this reel are a bit apart from that, in our opinion.

New Spool Size – Φ32mm Diameter Is Selected

Spool and brake system are the heart of baitcasting reel as you know already, because the biggest issue we could have from them are at casting – backlash.

Spool diameter is especially related to cast weight, as smaller diameter spool can be suitable to cast for lighter lures, and larger diameter spool can be suitable for larger and heavier lures, generally.

Previous STEEZ SV TW has Φ34mm dia. spool and this has been used for versatile luring.
And new 24 STEEZ SV TW actually has slightly smaller – Φ32mm diameter, G1 Duralumin Spool.

It can also depends on brake system but because of this update, new STEEZ is slightly more for lighter versatile style. Therefore, we are assuming the spool weight is a little lighter as well.

By this update, Φ34mm is passed to STEEZ A (II), and looks like they think Φ32mm is the “center” of bass-fishing versatile.

It’s interesting how this update will be affected for actual fishing.

Shocking!? Agreed!? Zero-Adjuster Is Off The Hook

This was surprising us at the first look.

DAIWA’s Zero-Adjuster, mainly called as “Mechanical Brake System” which changes how tight / loose the spool is against the reel body, has been announced by DAIWA that you should not change this as it’s been best adjusted by default and should not change, especially if you are not quite aware of baitcasting reels.

This 24 STEEZ SV TW, actually does not have mechanical brake system anymore!
“16 STEEZ let you fully adjust brake strength just by Magforce, therefore new STEEZ is “off the sub-brake system”.”, DAIWA Official says.

Would you agree or disagree?
