New Style Top Water Plug from DAIWA –Morethan Burst Upper 140F

There are plenty of top water lures at the market everywhere.. Floating minnow, pencil, popper… They are characterized differently to use for different situations.

And now, new style top water seabass plug from DAIWA is out, to cover the situation you cannot have bites from those existing top lures.

Harder than Pencil, Softer than Popper

This new DAIWA’s top water plug Morethan Burst Upper 140F has interesting cut edge at the front as you can see in the picture. This looks like popper’s, but flat and did not have vent inside, so it won’t make sounds like “pop” when you jerk.

But it won’t just sit under the water like pencil or minnow, so the actual action this lure has is to make splash harder than pencil, but softer than popper.

This action, as DAIWA tester explains, can work especially a calm situation, when popper sound can be too big, but pencil / minnow are too soft to appeal to fish. As popper makes big splash, with lots of bubbles, especially at the calm water it can be too big and can make fish warned from too much appeals. But fish are not around and did not see the lure if you use minnow / pencil lures, then you can possibly choice this Burst Upper 140F instead.

High Depth Range Control

This lure also has interesting side character as well.

When you put up the rod and make some jerking action it comes like “soft popper” as already explained. Now if you put down the tip of your rod and retrieve, then it dives down to 50cm around.

Moreover, when you retrieve with even speed, because of the cut edge in front the lure rolls and wobbles unevenly, that looks more like real live baits.

This means, you can use this lure from top water to middle range diving lure just by one.

Longer Cast with Gravity Movement System + Heavy Weight

Official website does not actually explain much about this, but this lure has gravity movement system, supposed like Shimano’s AR-C system, which gives you more cast distance.

And this big body has 28.5g weight, this can cast further, even when you have strong against winds.
