At Japan Fishing Show 2019, SHIMANO has announced lots of new products, as well as DAIWA, we already introduced here.
The second one from STELLA SW ’19, the popular round-shape bait casting reel from SHIMANO has renewed to Calcutta Conquest DC.
Powerful and Easy-To-Use Break System
To use bait casting reel, the balance of rounding spool speed and break system is very delicate but very important to us.
SHIMANO’s new break system named I-DC5 is very powerful, but literally easy-to-use.
This I-DC5 has a dial to switch the break level to 5 steps, and each steps are described to as below:
Lv.1 Vibration (20g – ), Metal Vibration
Lv.2 Crank bait (14g – ), Minnow / Shad (14g – ), Flog, Top water, Vibration, Rubber Jig etc
Lv.3 Spinner bait, Crank bait (7 – 14g), Minnow / Shad (7 – 14g)
Lv.4 Minnow / Shad (7 – 10g)
W (Lv.5) against windy condition, big baits
Longer Casting Distance with Magnum Light Spool
This spool is interesting actually, against DAIWA’s new concept CT spool, which has 30mm diameter, this Calcutta Conquest DC spoolis 38mm diameter. But this 2nd age Magnum Light Spool is much lightened keeping the big diameter.
So you don’t really need to worry about curing line too much but still have long casting ability.
Spec and Release Date
This only has one size with one gear ratio, which is 4.8.
Right hand model will be on sale on March, and left hand model will be on May.
